Steps
1. | Pick, wash and drain the rice. |
| Slice onions. |
| Heat fat, fry onions to a golden brown colour. |
| Remove half the onions and keep aside. |
| Add cumin to the remaining onions and fry for a few minutes. Add rice and fry well. |
| Add salt, boiling water and cook till done. |
| Serve hot garnished with golden browned onions. |
Standard
Well-cooked rice with separated grains, adequately seasoned, brown in colour from browned onions. Flavoured with cumin seeds [ jeera].
